You asked and we have tested a few printers for you! While we are not in the printing business and cannot possibly test every inkjet printer and laser printer on the market, we know our customers want to know what printers will print on Real Wood Paper.
We recommend for our DIY Customers that using a straight through feed laser printer is the best option. We have noticed that it is getting increasingly difficult to find laser printers with a straight through feed here in the USA. For that reason, we have tested a couple of reasonably priced home and/or office printers that you can have success DIY Printing on Wood.
You will notice in our printed samples below that all are printed on our Short Grain 8.5″ x 11″ Real Wood Paper sheets. Why Short Grain and not Long Grain? The wood paper is more flexible when bent with the grain so with that said, short grain allows the wood paper to bend around the rollers inside of the printers easier than long grain can.
