• What is Real Wood Paper?

  Real Wood Paper is a real wood veneer paper, also known as wood paper, wooden paper, thin wooden veneer, and more. It is made by shaving real wood from trees, capturing the unique characteristics and aesthetic qualities of each tree. Just as no two trees are identical, no two sheets of Real Wood Paper are alike, with natural variations in grain patterns and color.

  Each sheet of Real Wood Paper consists of raw wood on the front, an eco-friendly, biodegradable adhesive layer in the middle, and a backing option of fleece, paper, peel-and-stick adhesive, or another sheet of wood—providing a variety of choices to suit your project needs. Real Wood Paper is versatile: it can be printed on, used with a craft cutting machine, cut, scored, folded, perforated, paper punched, wood burned, laser engraved, laser cut, painted, stained, and more.

  Please note that since this product is made from real wood, each piece is unique and may differ from the photographs shown on our website. The natural variations in color and grain make Real Wood Paper a beautifully distinctive material for any project. No two projects using Real Wood Paper will ever be the same.

  Fleece (Vellum) Backed (.010″ thick)

  The Fleece Backed option is a very thin, sheer, and flexible material similar to Vellum, perfect for projects that require light weight, flexibility, and luminosity. This backing material is ideal for dollhouse enthusiasts, candle wraps, lamp shades, envelope liners, and other crafts that demand a delicate, flexible material. It has a similar appearance and feel to very thin vellum and is excellent for adhering to other materials, such as cardstock or wood.

  Adhesive Backed (.013″ thick)

  The Adhesive Backed material is a very thin, self-adhesive sheet that is perfect for adhering to other materials. The “stickiness” of the adhesive is stronger than a removable sticker but less than a permanent sticker. It can easily be cut with scissors, punches, or craft cutting machines, making it highly versatile for a variety of projects.

  Paper Backed (.016″ thick)

It offers flexibility for printing and provides textured backing that helps adhesive adhere more easily. It is an excellent choice for creating sturdy and beautiful invitations, announcements, and more.

  Our Wood Veneer Panels, available in 1/16″ and 1/8″ thicknesses, are perfect for laser engraving, laser cutting, wood burning, painting, and staining. When laser engraved or cut, these panels produce a beautiful warm brown tone, adding a rich, natural element to your creations.

• What Does Short Grain and Long Grain Mean?

  Short Grain and Long Grain refer to the direction of the wood fibers (grain) in relation to the dimensions of the sheet.

  • Short Grain: The grain runs along the shortest direction of the sheet. This often results in the material being more flexible across its width.

  • Long Grain: The grain runs along the longest direction of the sheet. This typically gives the material more strength and stability along the length.

  The direction of the grain affects the flexibility, strength, and texture of the material, and is important when folding, cutting, or applying adhesives.
